True 2-channel analog bypass will please the most discerning audiophile. The DMC-1 also features 8-channel pure analog inputs for SACD and DVD-A sources. We've also included 7.1 channel balanced outputs for an exceptionally low noise floor and high noise immunity. Dolby Pro Logic IIx is included for turning your 2-channel sources into 5.1/6.1/7.1. Also provided are two Side-Axis channels. Did we tell you about Side-Axis? These two additional channels are matrixed and derived from the front left and right channels so they are available in stereo as well as surround modes. You place the speakers between your main and surround speakers along the side walls. When engaged, the side axis feature delivers an amazingly large soundstage that you must hear to believe.

Additional features include video up conversion; this allows you to run all your composite, S-Video and component sources to the DMC-1 and output all on a single component video cable. The DMC-1 has three 100+Mhz component inputs and the OSD (on-screen display) is available over component too. You also get three additional single-ended (RCA) subwoofer outputs, a MM phono input and Analog Devices 24/192 DAC's.

For those that want to install some outdoor speakers or a two channel system in another room, the DMC-1 will allow you to play two independent sources simultaneously. The front panel display allows you to re-name all the inputs (such as changing ‘Vid 1’ to XBOX) so source selection is easy. The included Home Theater Master MX500 learning remote features lots of hard buttons as well as a LCD readout that is configurable so that in no time you can completely customize the system control for your components.

Now available - HDMI switching! The Emotiva DMC-1 now comes with a custom HDMI switcher at no extra charge! This external switcher will seamlessly integrate with your DMC-1 processor. It features two HDMI inputs and one HDMI output. It connects through the RS-232 (serial) connector on the back of the DMC-1. This allows the DMC-1 to control the switcher! Press SAT and the switcher automatically changes to to input #1. Press DVD and the switcher goes to input #2. This operation allows the HSM-2 to operate as if it was built into the DMC-1 chassis. This eases control of your system by alleviating the need to switch the video input on your TV as well as the audio input on your processor. One button press and you are done! The switcher is a $199 retail value but it comes included with your DMC-1 at no charge. It supports 480i, 480p, 720p, 720i, and 1080i, 1080p resolutions ·

Certainly behind performance, but still very important are the cosmetics. The DMC-1 features gorgeous black lacquered wood side panels, a massive multi element milled aluminum faceplate with "floating” wing details and indirect cobalt blue panel illumination of all controls (with a multi-stage dimmer). Milled aluminum rack ears are included for professional installations (the DMC-1 is in a 3RU chassis). The DMC-1 runs cool so you can stack it directly on top of the MPS-1 amplifier if you like. Multiple triggers are supplied to turn on/off your amp as well as for triggering motorized screens, projectors, etc. The DMC-1 is voltage 120/230VAC switchable.
