The Erd-1 is designed to be wall mounted, and comes with steel mounting plates.
To properly mount the speakers without complication, please use walls anchors capable of supporting up to 20 pounds, or mount the plates directly against a wall stud.
Also, please read the important notes below:

|
1. Mounting screws on the back of the ERD-1
The mounting screws on the back of the ERD-1 are machine driven to a preset depth into a 'keeper' embedded in the speaker case. They were not designed to sit flush against the surface. The screws can be tightened, but only very minimally. Over-tightening will cause the screws to strip the keeper, and possibly crack the speaker casing.
If you feel the need to adjust the depth of the mounting screws by tightening them, please do so with great care.

2. Mounting the ERD-1 on your wall
The proper position for the mounting plate is with the Emotiva logo facing outwards, towards you, as you place it on the wall (as seen in the image to the right).
|
 |
3. Foams strips
There are four adhesive-backed foam strips in your ERD-1 box, two for each mounting plate. These prevent inductive vibration between the speaker and the mounting plate.
Peel the cover on the adhesive side of the strips, and stick them to the ridges that run up and down between the top and bottom keyholes on each side of the mounting plate, as pictured to the right.

4. Mounting plate in place
To the right is a photo of the mounting plate attached to the ERD-1, to show it's proper placement.
When mounting the speakers to a wall, the mounting plate should be firmly affixed to the wall with appropriate anchors. Carefully lift the speaker to the plate, lining up the mounting screws to the keyholes, then let the speaker gently slide down into place.
