CMX2+ Precision Common Mode AC Line Filter With DC Offset Eliminator and Surge Protection

The CMX2+ is a heavy-duty AC power strip that provides clean power, free of common mode and high frequency line noise to two commercial grade outlets. This allows the audio components connected to the CMX2+ to deliver their best performance under all operating conditions. The CMX2+ also includes a fast-acting resettable magnetic circuit breaker and 115 joules of surge suppression to protect your valuable audio gear from potentially damaging line surges and transients.

Constructed from premium components, the CMX2+ utilizes our exclusive Power Direct Connect™ mounting system, which connects its single pair of commercial grade outlets directly to the high current circuit board by the shortest possible path, eliminating power robbing resistive losses and other problems caused by less reliable and robust wiring techniques. Inside the sleek machined aluminum case of the CMX2+, both common-mode and differential-mode L/C filtering is employed to reduce or eliminate all types of high-frequency line noise. Surge suppression is provided by a 115 joule metal oxide varistor with a peak surge current rating of 4500 Amps.

In addition to the sharing the main features of the CMX6+, the CMX2+ offers a solution to a less well-known problem – DC offset and AC waveform distortion on the AC power line itself. DC offset is usually the result of unbalanced loads or of flaws in the power distribution system itself. While only present on some power lines, DC offset can be extremely difficult to detect and, when it is present, can cause a variety of problems. DC offset causes extra current to flow through the power transformers that power your audio gear, which can make them run hotter, and produce more mechanical hum, and in extreme cases can even potentially cause permanent damage. If DC offset is present on your AC power line, the special DC Offset Elimination circuit in the CMX2+ will completely block it from reaching the gear that is connected to it. AC line distortion is the result of dimmers, switching power supplies, motors, and other AC loads that can cause AC line asymmetry and distortion. The CMX2+ helps restore AC waveform integrity and balance.
