While many modern audiophiles have embraced the world of streaming audio and digital audio downloads, many of us have extensive CD collections, and CDs are actually experiencing something of a resurgence due to their consistent audio quality and tactile user experience. And, of course, some of us still enjoy having a disc we can hold in our hands, and extras like printed liner notes. Unfortunately, as streaming audio and digital downloads become ever more popular, it has become increasingly difficult to find a high quality CD player, and even more difficult to find a true audiophile quality player at an affordable price. Here at Emotiva, we’re convinced that there is still a place for a true audiophile quality CD player in a high-end music system, and we’re pleased to introduce our new CD1 Precision CD Player and Transport to fulfill that requirement and extend the life of your existing CD collection.

A high-performance Digital CD transport

The transport mechanism in the CD1 features both quality construction and advanced engineering. A solid aluminum face plate, with faceted black metal trim, and a reinforced steel chassis, deliver rugged reliability and prevent unwanted outside influences from interfering with your listening experience. A reliable tray-loading mechanism handles your CD discs with care and a powerful LASER engine reads even damaged discs that often frustrate other lesser CD players. The high visibility VFD display makes it easy to know the exact status of your session, and the CD1 can be controlled using either the front panel buttons, or the included full function remote control. As a digital disc transport the CD1 offers both Coax digital S/PDIF and Toslink optical S/PDIF digital audio outputs.

Audiophile quality analog audio outputs

For those who are looking for a complete solution, the CD1 also includes an advanced Cirrus Logic CS4398 Multi-Bit Delta-Sigma DAC, which precisely converts the digital audio from your CD into true audiophile quality analog audio. This analog audio is routed to the stereo unbalanced analog output on the CD1 via carefully designed analog circuitry powered by a precision low-noise power supply. (These details are often overlooked in other CD transports – where the analog output is merely an afterthought.)
