Dirac Live - Success At Last

Dirac Live - Success At Last

When we started work on designing the RMC-1, and our entire line of new processors, our goal was to deliver the best possible performance and sound quality for our customers. One of the ways we chose to help us make that goal a reality was to incorporate the latest generation of powerful, cutting-edge DSP processors.

Based on the information we had when we started the project, and the fact that the Dirac software was already being incorporated into other processors that use older technology, we didn't expect it to be especially difficult to include the code required to support Dirac Live automatic room correction into our new line of processors. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case, and integrating Dirac Live into the RMC-1 family turned out to be a much bigger project than we'd initially anticipated, which has been the reason for all the delays. The final result of our labor has been the development of a small external hardware module, the Emotiva Dirac Live Network Interface, which facilitates communication between our processor and the Dirac Live software installed on your computer. It is a small device, with its own processor and code, that is connected to your network when you perform your Dirac Live room calibrations on your processor. It only has to be connected to your network when you're actually taking measurements, or using the Dirac software to create a new Dirac Live profile, and doesn't have to be connected when you're simply using your processor. Since it is an integral part of using Dirac Live with your RMC-1, RMC-1L, or XMC-2 processor, we will be providing it to our customers at no charge as part of the Dirac Live calibration package that comes with your unit. (Customers who have already received their processor will receive the new hardware at the same time as their Dirac Live license.)

Connecting the device to your network is very simple, it won't take up much space in your closet when you're not using it, we think the results are worth it, and we're sure you'll agree.
