Upgrading an old processor with new release code (currently 5.5)

When updating firmware to 5.5

1.      You need to do a Factory Reset, then a cold boot

2.      Load firmware, cold boot

3.      Manually set up the unit

a.      (You will not be able to “Restore Settings” from 3.2 code)

4.      Run Dirac and load filters

Improvements/fixes

·       Improved Audio/Video stability

·       Improved mute timing for fewer ticks and pops

·       No “robotic/kazoo” noise from Apple TV

·       Snappier menu navigation

·       Changing Dirac filters is much faster

·       In “Video Remains On” - Audio to TV volume is improved

·       Dolby Upmix to Middle Heights and Wides now available

NOTES:

·       Programmed “Universal Remotes” for IR/IP: "discrete HDMI" codes are now "mapped" to "Buttons 1-8". All other inputs retain discrete codes.

·       Legacy Emotiva Remote App may not work

It is not advisable to update to 5.5:

1. If you are running a non-eARC HDMI board (If your “HDMI Version” is currently less than 10.0) 

OR

2. If you are running 3.1.2 Firmware with any of the following conditions:

·   Using both HDMI outputs  

·   Using a projector

·   Using an HDMI balun (HDMI over network cable)
