The Third Generation XPA Family Of Modular Power Amplifiers

 

There are several different models in the new XPA family of power amplifiers, offering you the unique opportunity to personalize your new amplifier to exactly the configuration you need for your stereo or surround sound audio system.  

Each XPA amplifier starts with a heavy duty steel chassis. This chassis houses the massive switch mode power supply, the protection and control circuitry, and the amplifier modules. Displayed on the front panel are status LEDs for each channel, and the large illuminated Standby Power button. There are two different versions of the chassis, both perfectly matched on the outside, but containing slightly different versions of the power supply, each optimized for the combination of amplifier modules the chassis is populated with.  

Our new XPA amplifiers all feature a fully modular design. The amplifier can be populated with anywhere between two and fourteen amplifier channels at purchase and have channels added or removed at any point by sending the amplifier back to Emotiva Headquarters.

   

There are currently 3 different models of modules that are used in the XPA amplifiers. There is the standard 300 watt “Mono” module, the 2 x 75 watt “Stereo” module, and the 600 watt “DR” module.    

The XPA Modules

The 300 watt High-Powered Single Channel Amplifier “Mono” Module is a fully discrete, dual differential, high current, short signal path Class A/B amplifier module, featuring Optimized Class H power supply topology, audiophile grade input connectors and speaker terminals, and microprocessor control fault protection. This module may be used in the same chassis as the “Stereo” modules to help meet your system channel requirements.       The 2 x 75 watt “Stereo” module is a two-channel, fully discrete, dual differential, high current, short signal path Class A/B amplifier module, featuring audiophile grade input connectors and speaker terminals, and microprocessor controlled fault protection. The “Stereo” Amplifier Module provides two completely independent amplifier channels in a module that occupies a single slot. The “Stereo” modules may be used in the same chassis as the “Mono” modules to help meet your system channel requirements.     The 600 watt “DR” module is a very high powered Differential Reference™, fully discrete, fully differential, fully balanced, high current, short signal path Class A/B amplifier, featuring Optimized Class H power supply topology, audiophile grade input connectors and speaker terminals, and microprocessor controlled fault protection. Each “DR” Differential Reference™ Amplifier modules consists of two complete signal paths, one for each phase of the audio signal, in a fully symmetrical balanced configuration, and occupies two module slots in the XPA chassis. These “DR” modules CANNOT be mixed and matched with the “Mono” or “Stereo” modules.
