Our DRS-1 Differential Reference® Streamer now supports Volumio 4, bringing a fresh interface and improvements to the way you browse and stream your music. This free upgrade is available now for existing DRS-1 owners, and we encourage you to give it a try.
Meet NOVA
The most noticeable addition is NOVA, a new interface that changes how your music, menus, and settings are organized. With a redesigned layout, NOVA makes navigating your collection and finding what you want to hear feel more intuitive.
You’ll see the updated interface whether you control your DRS-1 through the Volumio app, a web browser, or a connected TV or monitor. Prefer the familiar MANIFEST interface? It’s still available, and you can switch between the two in System Settings.
Improvements to Everyday Streaming
Volumio 4 also brings smoother interaction between the Volumio app and services such as TIDAL and Qobuz.
For Spotify listeners, the update includes a new Spotify plugin that restores functionality affected by Spotify’s September software change. A paid Spotify Premium subscription is required to use Spotify through Volumio.
A Free Upgrade for DRS-1 Owners
Volumio 4 updates the operating system running on your DRS-1 itself, so it does more than update the app on your phone. Your DRS-1’s included Volumio Premium features remain available without a separate Volumio subscription. Music service subscriptions are separate.
To get started, open System Settings and check for updates. You’ll need to accept the upgrade before installation begins, even if Automatic Updates is enabled.
Before updating: This upgrade performs a factory reset, so you’ll need to complete setup and sign back into your accounts afterward. Record any settings or playlists saved only within Volumio before you begin. Playlists and favorites stored in your streaming service accounts should not be affected.
We’re pleased to bring this update to DRS-1 owners. Try NOVA, revisit a favorite album, and spend some time exploring what’s new.
