Product Overview

The Emotiva XMC-2 CR8 is a Certified Refurbished 16-channel cinema processor that’s equal parts home theater control center and serious listening preamp. It routes your sources, handles surround decoding and volume control, and sends balanced analog output to your external power amplifiers. And unlike a lot of processors that stop at “auto setup,” the XMC-2 platform also gives you hands-on tools like manual PEQ presets and a REW-friendly workflow when you want to tune by measurement and preference. 

CR8 designates an XMC-2 that has been hardware-upgraded and fully refurbished by our team in Tennessee. It comes with a new HDMI 2.1 (8K) board and a new ECC-2 control board, along with installed Wi-Fi antenna assembly, a newly registered Dirac Live license, and the latest firmware. Each unit completes burn-in and full QC before shipment, and includes a one-year limited warranty. HDMI 2.1 capability covers 4K/120Hz and 8K/60Hz, with VRR, QMS (including QMS with VRR), Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced, eARC, and fast input switching. On the audio side, the XMC-2 provides 16 channels of balanced XLR outputs, with conversion handled by AKM4490 Verita DACs operating in fully balanced mono mode.

Manual PEQ

The XMC-2 includes two independent manual EQ presets, each with 11 bands of parametric EQ per speaker. Tune by ear, by measurement, or both. Then assign the preset you want by input.
