BasX: The Foundation of a Superb Audio System
The goal of putting together an exceptional audio system is to enrich your life with outstanding sound. It isn’t about spending a lot of money, or about fancy knobs and jewel encrusted remote controls; it’s all about playing the music. As a leading manufacturer of home audio equipment, we’ve noticed that a lot of people still don’t have high-quality audio in their lives. Some folks don’t have the budget to buy good equipment, while others don’t have the time to spend trying to figure out how to use it – and that’s exactly why we developed our new Emotiva BasX products. Our BasX components combine great sound quality, a carefully chosen set of genuinely useful features, and rock solid performance, with a simple yet elegant design.
This unique combination allows us to offer a combination you just can’t find anywhere else – great sound and great value. All of the components in our new BasX line are priced to be within reach of every music lover. You don’t need to be rich to afford them, and you don’t need to be an engineer to figure out how to use them. They’re carefully crafted to give you many years of reliable and trouble-free service, and they’ll look great in your living room or on your audio rack. You can build a complete music system out of our BasX components that will give you a true audiophile listening experience. Or try adding one or two BasX components to round out your existing audio system. Great sounding audio doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated.
While the BasX A-700 offers lots of performance, you won’t need an advanced degree to install and use it, and you won’t need to rewire your home. The BasX A-700 ships with a removable heavy-duty industry standard IEC power cable. Just plug it into an outlet, connect it to your preamp or processor and your speakers, and you’re done. Your BasX A-700 will figure out your line voltage automatically, and its speaker outputs are heavy-duty five way binding posts that accept bare wire, banana plugs, or spade lugs. We’ve used industry standard connectors, so you can upgrade the power cable or your speaker wires if you like; the BasX A-700 doesn’t really need all that fancy stuff, but it’s ready if you decide you want to add it later.
The BasX A-700 is built to last, with a heavy duty steel chassis, solid milled aluminum faceplate, and high-quality parts and construction throughout. We expect you to enjoy your BasX A-700 for a long time – and we back that up with a full three-year warranty.

The perfect amp (for the price). Sure there are bigger and badder amps out there but I was tired of the flat 1 dimensional sound coming from my last 2 home theater receivers. I'm in a mid sized theater room and while the receiver works it was not the sound I was looking for. The speakers are all Klipsch Reference series and are extremely efficient. The mains are RF-82II and the center is the RC 62II. Both the rear surrounds and front height are Klipsch SPS-6WH. I'm set up in a 5.1.2 array using front height speakers. The A-700 has more than enough power to run this set up and stays very cool while doing it. I was using the infinity cooler on the Onkyo 820 receiver and it often ran into the high 90's. As you can see I have the turn on temp set to 84 I just finished watch "August Rush" at a good no one is home on a Saturday afternoon level, and the amp never hit more than 85 and is already cooled back down to 83. For years I worked at a store here in Florida known as Sound Advice. I would bring people in for demos and switch between a receiver and a bank of Krell or Anthem amps. The difference is amazing, not just the power but how these amps open up the sound field. The A-700 while not a Krell has many of the sonic capabilities of these separate amps. The Sound stage opens, the right and left separate with zero cross talk, everything sounds "bigger". The bass response is so tight (damping factor >500, thank you emotive) So lets see... amazing sound stage, more than enough power, super tight, runs cool and sells for $600 couldn't ask for any more. In the attached photo the Crown is running a custom passive Sub in case you are wondering... THANKS Emotiva Mike D
I was hesitant to add the A700 since it was rated at 80wpc, all channels driven, and my AVR was rated at 110wpc. Well, they say not all watts are the same, and it is true! The difference in clarity, imaging and sound quality is unbelievable. The A700 saved me from having to upgrade to a new avr and spending thousands of dollars to get the SQ I demanded. As a processor, my Onkyo is great, and now that I have offloaded the amplification to the Emotiva I have a truly audiophile worthy sound system. My Axiom M60 towers, bi-amped to 160 watts each, sound incredible. This left me 80wpc to my center and 2 surrounds. I can't recommend this amp enough for anyone on a budget who is looking to dip their toes into true audiophile grade sound. Thanks Emotiva, you have created a true believer and a loyal customer when it comes time to expand.
using it to power four channels with the lxmini and two channels for my other system.
I added the A-700 to my Marantz SR-7012 to power the height channels on my 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos set-up. Adds more immersion to the heights channels.
Great product for home theater plenty of power. Can’t beat them own price. Quality all around
